I didn't know it was you until it was too late, and then you were gone. Again. You said my name; I saw it on your lips. I tried to will the train to stop, just so I could say hello.
After seeing you, all of the youthful feelings and memories came flooding back to me, and now I've spent the better part of a month wondering what your life is like. I might be totally out of my mind, but would you like to get a drink with me and catch up on the last decade and a half?

They are the definition of: Right Person, Wrong Time. Matt and Grace meet at college and within a very short time, strangers become friends, and friends become romantic partners. But time flies, and their lives seem to be playing against them rather than with them. After they meet again years after their breakup, feelings flare up again, and a secret is revealed that may changes everything. The book was advertised to me as "similar to Normal People by Sally Rooney" – I wouldn't agree with that at all, but thematically it follows the same path. However, Matt and Grace's story was much simpler and perhaps a bit more predictable, which I find a bit of a shame. Both characters were super interesting, though, and gave the book a great vibe which I enjoyed reading. A good book for in between, but nothing more than that.
