I‘m in my lesbian horror era
In this genre-bending short story collection Carmen Maria Machado destroys the borders between magical realism and science fiction, comedy and horror, and anger and lust! A lot of the protagonists (if not all of them; I can‘t really remember) were queer, which I really enjoyed! Some stories were a little too long for my taste, as I enjoy short chapters! -

weird stories for the weird girlies
This collection of short stories is very unique not just in a formal way but also Carmen Maria Machados writing style. I previously loved her memoir "In the Dream House" and couldn't wait to get my hands on her debut novel! I will say not every story was for me (I particuliary disliked the Law & Order one, as I haven't watched any SVU episode ever and was hella confused) but others really gripped me. So I definetly highly recommend this one to all the weird-books-lovers and Fans of Lesbian Horror. -
