Christmas at Rachel's Pudding Pantry

3,5 Stars It's nice to be back in the delicious Pudding Pantry with Rachel, her cute daughter Maisie and her baking goddess of a mother. Not so much has changed on Primrose Farm. Tom and Rachel are still in love and the three Swinton ladies are still financially distressed. But they have some good ideas to acquire additional customers for her little business. And what better holiday is there than Christmas to splash out on sweet pastries and puddings? But, as the story progressed, Rachel was getting on my nerves a bit. With her repetitive musings about the shortage of money and customers, about the loss of her father and how her busy life at the farm prevents her from seeing Tom much. (I do believe that she could have found some time for him, it mustn't be only after Maisies bedtime.) And how she reacts to Tom helping her with his night-watch, or when her mum starts having a private life again. Also, are there really people in the UK who are constantly thanking each other profoundly and politely for everything that's said or done?? And calling each other love, pet, petal, poppet, or hun in almost every sentence? Maybe there are, but I found it a bit overdone... Nevertheless, this is a nice and cosy book full of mouth-watering recipes, sweet characters and a nice story.
