How do you create a story like this in a little over 100 pages?
I’ve been meaning to read “Silver in the Wood” for the longest time now and I’m so glad I finally picked it up! This was such a nice quick read and so much more complex than I thought it would be. How do you create a story like this in a little over 100 pages? Devoured it in one sitting. Emily Tesh I applaud you. “Silver in the Wood” is pretty much everything its summary promises: a heartfelt–sometimes dark–tale about an immortal man in the woods, his past coming to haunt him and the bubbly folklorist Henry Silver who one day stumbles into his cottage and starts to unravel his world of ancient curses, wood creatures, fairy kings and dryads. Oh and there’s a cat! Loved this a lot and am immensely happy there’s a second book for me to dive into immediately. The perfect read for a cozy, rainy evening! -

Not for me
I went into this based on a recommendation and without expectations but I guess this just wasn't for me. The romance felt out of place and practically non-existent. I would have liked for the relationship to be a bit more flashed out but I am also not a fan of a massive age gap when one character is in their early 20s and the other a couple hundred years old. The atmosphere was not as dark as I would have preferred and the story was just okay.
