To Be Taught, If Fortunate A Novella

Ein kurzes Buch, aber auch sehr faszinierend. Es geht um Leben. Wo kommt es her, wie überlebt es und wie kann es aussehen. Das Buch ist an vielen Stellen sehr wissenschaftlich, was wenig überraschend ist, da es um Wissenschaftler auf fremden Planeten geht. Der wissenschaftliche Part ist aber gut zu verstehen. Die zwischenmenschlichen Beziehungen und was die unterschiedlichen Planeten mit den vier Protagonisten machen, ist faszinierend zu lesen. Auch die Planeten sind faszinierend. Ein wirklich gutes Buch. Kann ich jedem empfehlen.

This question is at the core of this Novella. An at times haunting but overwhelmingly beautiful exploration of what the near future of space travel could look like, this story is, as always, grounded in Chambers's wonderful characters, their thoughts, and the challenges they face. At the same time, this story does not ignore the current issues our society faces in favor of a hyper advanced future and instead addresses these with the same gentle and masterful touch I have come to adore from Chambers's writing. This was an afternoon more than worthily spent devouring this wonderful little book.

This novel is a beautifully written, mesmerizing love letter to science-fiction. It's delightful to read and very hard to let go
