In Five Years

I went into this expecting the story to go in a certain direction and I was 100% sure of it until the first plot twist... I believe the synopsis may be a bit misleading and they could have made clearer what the book is about (I understand why they didn't though, it would have probably been a huge spoiler for some people). Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed the story and its characters very much and became emotionally engaged when the "My life is perfect"- trope turns into a hard core reality check for the protagonist. Made me think a lot about the reality and purpose of some realtionships nowadays... a little warning: not exactly the funny, uplifting feel-good love story the cover makes it out to be, but still a beautiful novel.

Also hier geht es keinesfalls um eine Liebesgeschichte eines Pärchens im klassischen Sinne. Ich finde es super schade, da die Beschreibung etwas ganz anderes vermuten lässt und schlichtweg auch einfach falsch beschreibt. Dannie ist in ihrer Vision nicht mit jemand anderem Verlobt, und so sehr man auf die Lovestory wartet ist es ein Buch über Krebs und Verlust, eine wundervolle Freundschaft zwischen zwei Menschen und die Art und Weise, wie Menschen sich verändern (müssen). Ganz ehrlich; eine Content-Note wäre freundlich gewesen, dann hätte ich mir dieses Buch definitiv nicht gekauft. An sich ist das Buch gut, die Story nett und die Personen toll geschrieben. Dennoch so absolut gar nicht das, was die Beschreibung vermuten lässt und daher nur eine 2/5.

Ich habe das Buch aufgrund einer Empfehlung heruntergeladen und konnte es gar nicht mehr aus den Händen legen! Ist unser Leben schon vorbestimmt, egal welche Entscheidungen wir treffen? Tolles Buch mit unerwartendem Ende.
