The Trials of Empire

There are not many books that I come across which are so utterly perfect in each and every aspect that I am at a total loss of words. It seems as if there are not enough words to praise Swan's literary craftsmanship and the brilliance of this series. With each instalment, he gathers more and more momentum, leading his main characters Sir Konrad Vonvalt and Helena up to their final trial in this third and last volume. I am more than impressed by Swan's scope of imagination and the terror he is able to convey through every written word of his. While reading, it almost felt as if I was fighting alongside Helena and Konrad for the survival of good above evil, justice over religious fanaticism. Swan gives us so much to think about when it comes to the mortal and spiritual realm that I will for sure read this series a second time in the future. I also know that I will be equally thrilled, fascinated and infused with terror and suspense as if reading the story for the first time. Yes - it's THAT good!
