Rezension

An Indie Next Pick!

"A literary breakthrough The Love Hypothesis is a self-assured debut, and we hypothesize it's just the first bit of greatness we'll see from an author who somehow has the audacity to be both an academic powerhouse and divinely talented novelist." Entertainment Weekly

Contemporary romance's unicorn: the elusive marriage of deeply brainy and delightfully escapist...The Love Hypothesis has wild commercial appeal but the quieter secret is that there is a specific audience, made up of all of the Olives in the world, who have deeply, ardently waited for this exact book. Christina Lauren, New York Times bestselling author

Funny, sexy and smart, Ali Hazelwood did a terrific job with The Love Hypothesis. Mariana Zapata, New York Times bestselling author

This tackles one of my favorite tropes Grumpy meets Sunshine in a fun and utterly endearing way...I loved the nods towards fandom and romance novels, and I couldn't put it down. Highly recommended! Jessica Clare, New York Times bestselling author

"Pure slow-burning gold with lots of chemistry." Popsugar

"A beautifully written romantic comedy with a heroine you will instantly fall in love with, The Love Hypothesis is destined to earn a place on your keeper shelf." Elizabeth Everett, author of A Lady's Formula for Love

"Smart, witty dialog and a diverse cast of likable secondary characters...A realistic, amusing novel that readers won t be able to put down." Library Journal, starred review

"Hilarious and heartwarming, The Love Hypothesis is romantic comedy at its best...a perfect amalgamation of sex and science, sure to appeal to readers of Christina Lauren or Abby Jimenez." Shelf Awareness

"With whip-smart and endearing characters, snappy prose, and a quirky take on a favorite trope, Hazelwood convincingly navigates the fraught shoals of academia...This smart, sexy contemporary should delight a wide swath of romance lovers." Publishers Weekly

I loved this book (no hypothesis)

I really enjoyed reading "The Love Hypothesis", even so much that it got me back into reading more English and especially more Romance books. When Ph.D. candidate Olive Smith convinces her best friend Anh that she is going on dates and doesn't spend her friday nights at the laboratory, she is in a dilemma, when Anh sees her in the lab on a friday night. As a panic reaction, Olive kisses the first man she sees, who is unfortunately her professor Adam Carlsen. They start a fake-dating-experiment which then starts to feel a little too real... I really enjoyed the chemistry between the both and how their characters and their behaviour felt really organic. The writing style made it easy for me to keep reading and motivated me to read more romcoms (which I do for a living now, so I guess this book is a really convincing one). If you want to start reading Romance or also just English books, Ali Hazelwood is a great place to start.

    STEM-romance with twists

I loved this book from the beginning to the end. The book made me giggle, smile, cry, everything. I loved the characters and the plot with the science background. Would recommend it to people who are looking for an easy-reading book with some nerdy background :)

    Loved it!

This book sat on my shelf for ages. I bought it out of a whim when everyone was talking about it on booktok and bookstagram. But that was also kinda the reason why I didn't quite bring myself to read it so far. I had such high expectations and I was honestly kinda scared that it was overhyped and I wouldn't like it. BUT. This book was amazing! And it's most definitely worth all the hype around it. I almost instantly fell in love with Adam and Olive is such a nice, funny and relatable protagonist. I also really enjoyed their chemistry. I started this book, couldn't set it down and read it in one sitting. Which I most definitely did not expect. The characters and the story were fun and I loved the writing style. Highly recommend! This was also my first book from Ali Hazelwood and I will definitely check out her other books as well <3

    Wundervolles Buch!

    THE PERFECT ROMANCE BOOK

The Love Hypothesis- Ali Hazelwood Pages: 383 Rating: 5/5 Genre: Romance Oh my gosh!!! This book yall!!! One of my 2023 goals was to expend the genres that I’m reading. I never was the romance type of person but I want to read some of them this year so I chose the love hypothesis to start with! In this book we are following Olive who’s a scientist who gets herself in a situation where she ends up in a fake relationship with Adam Carlsen who is also a professor! Within the time more lies are coming up to keep up with convincing everyone that they are dating which they have to because obviously both of them are hoping to get something out of the fake dating. I don’t want to spoil anything so I’m just going to say that it was absolutely AMAZING. From now on I’m excited to read more romance books. Adam and Olivia made me giggle so many times! Plus there is a whole chapter with smut!!! I didn’t expect that to be honest but I LOVED it! Of course there’s also lots of confusion about their feelings and we have a character who’s a big ass jerk! I 10/10 recommend this one!:) TikTok Deryalovestoread

    I'm in love!

After disliking 'two can play' i honestly didn't really have high hopes for this one though it positively surprised me. With 'fake dating' being my favorite trope next to 'enemies to lovers' I knew I'd like this one but I didn't imagine it would entrance me this much. Definitely the best character work I've seen from Hazelwood so far. Would recommend this one to every romance lover.

    A formula for pure chemistry!

    Buch (Gebundene Ausgabe)

Adam Carlsen the man you are….

For everyone who needs a sweet romance where you kick your feet and briefly search for invisible cameras so that no one sees you squealing like a schoolgirl over basic human interaction ;). Olive Smith doesn't believe in love – and definitely not in long-lasting relationships. Her best friend, however, feels completely differently and tries everything to make Olive happy. So Olive tries to convince her that she is indeed happy – and what better way than to simply claim she's dating someone? But her best friend doesn't quite believe her. In a panic, Olive kisses the first man she sees – who, to her dismay, turns out to be Adam Carlsen. An incredibly good-looking professor – but just as much of an asshole. How she gets herself out of this mess, whether love might grow from initial hatred, and whether Adam ends up surprising her positively – you'll find out here. You get a love story on a whole new level here – cringe is guaranteed. You'll root for her and cheer for Olive and Adam's progress. We love a touch-starved man, hehe. Adam Carlsen is one of the sweetest book boyfriends I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. My first book from Ali Hazelwood that hat me pleasantly suprised A sweet book for all hopeless romantics who just want to switch off for a while.

    One of my favourites!

This is the first book of Ali Hazelwood's that I've read, and it made me read all her subsequent ones as well. As with a typical romance book, you get what you expect - in this case a cute fake dating story in a university setting. But what I love most is that Ali's other life - being a neuroscientist - shines through. Her writing is extremely witty and clever, but also just fun to read! Just an added bonus is highlighting the lives of women in STEM, which hasn't been done much in the genre.

    Thank you Ali Hazelwood

This was probably one of the fastest times I got into a book. Not just because of the writing style, which sucks you in with its easy flow, but also because of the super immersive plot. Theres fake dating, work-based romance, a slight age gap and lots of other tropes that will get you into the story quickly. And even though it is a fast read there’s still the feeling of two characters knowing and loving each other deeply and I fell in love with these two straight away.
