PhD candidate Phoebe Walsh has always been obsessed with true crime. She's even analysing the genre in her dissertation - if she can manage to finish writing it. It's hard to find the time while she spends the summer in Florida, cleaning out her childhood home, dealing with her obnoxiously good-natured younger brother, and grappling with the complicated feelings of mourning a father she hadn't had a relationship with for years.
It doesn't help that she's low-key convinced that her new neighbour, Sam Dennings, is a serial killer (he may dress business casual by day, but at night he's clearly up to something). But it's not long before Phoebe realises that Sam might be something much scarier - a genuinely nice guy who can pierce her armour to reach her vulnerable heart.

Me *reading the first sentence* Yep, love it!
The title, as well as the cover, are just adorable and so intriguing, that I had to get it. And it started off real well, it's funny and relatable and I loved the fact, that she's so positive,in her neighbour being a serial killer. For the first time, I actually enjoyed the pop culture references, because I recognized a lot of them (personal success haha). Then it all went down. I missed the humor from the beginning, this whole paranoia about serial killers. I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR BROTHER PROPOSING. It just ended as a cheesy romcom and that's just too boring, in my opinion. I was expecting a lot more, another plot twist with him, actually being a serial killer... something like that. Turns out, it didn't get any better than the first sentence.
