Raiders of the Lost Heart

I went into "Raiders of the Lost Heart" on a whim, recommended by a co-worker who knew I wasn’t much of a reader before I started working here, but a huge fan of story-driven video games like "Uncharted". She was absolutely right: this book reads like a fanfiction set in the universe of "Uncharted" (for me specifically) with a female lead in the best possible way. Complete with danger, banter, buried secrets, and a fiery romance to match. What surprised me most? The romance isn’t even the main focus and that’s what makes it work so well. The chemistry between Dr. Corrie Mejía and the male lead is electric, but it never overshadows the adventure or the heart of the story. Their enemies-to-lovers vibe felt intense and real. Corrie absolutely stole the show for me. She’s everything I love in a main character, strong, smart, sarcastic, and fiercely independent. Honestly? Corrie doesn’t need a man to complete her arc, and that made me root for her even more. The setting was vivid and immersive, the pacing was spot-on, and I found myself reading half the book in one sitting because I just had to know what happened next. I’d recommend this book to anyone who loves adventure stories with strong female leads, especially fans of Tomb Raider, Uncharted, or Indiana Jones as the title is a reference to one of the movies anyways. And if you're into authors like Ali Hazelwood, this one will probably hit your sweet spot too.
