Death of a Bookseller

Alice Slater has written a story, that refuses to let go, I couldn't think about anything else! As a bookseller myself, I obviously loved the bookish parts, the daily perks (or sometimes downsides) of working in a bookshop. The details fit just perfectly, but then again, Alice Slater spent six years working with Waterstones (I'm a lot jealous not gonna lie). This well executed dark character study, was definitely not the cozy mystery I expected, but ALL THE BETTER! When Laura (the 'bookish girl') starts working at her branch, Brodie (Roach) is convinced, they should be friends. Let me tell you, that sounds as creepy and obsessive as it turns out to be... This book is both unsettling and humorous, it takes you in a world of true crime, snails as pets and some deep obsessions with serial killers. Another debut I absolutely loved!
