Lizzie and Maeve are the main characters in the second book of Crimson Sails series by Neon Gods author Katee Robert. Lizzie is a murderous vampire who wants her family heirlooms back, Maeve is a selkie who lost her pelt to an ex-lover/smuggler. Together they embark on a totally distanced and not at all tension-filled journey to retrieve both, but of course Lizzie has to eat, and they're alone, on the wide ocean, with nobody but Maeve as a source of food around, and Lizzie's bites are literally orgasm-inducing... So of course they end up in multiple beds together, but emotions are never that easy. Especially when both have an ulterior motive, especially because Lizzie isn't even from this plane of existence and has to go back. This book was so fun! Absolutely give this a read if you've thought about Tia Dalma from PotC: Dead man's Chest disrespectfully.

In Blood on the tide begibt sich Lizzy, die ein Vampir ist, auf die Suche nach den gestohlenen Erbstücken ihrer Familie und muss dabei mit Maeve zusammenarbeiten, deren magische "Haut" gestohlen wurde, die es ihr erlaubt die Gestalt einer Seekuh anzunehmen... Irgendwie super absurder Plot, aber irgendwas hat mich dazu bewegt dieses Buch trotzdem zu kaufen - und ich bereue es nicht ganz! Ich fand einige Passagen etwas langatmig und es hätte ruhig mehr spice und Szenen zwischen Lizzy und Maeve geben können und dafür weniger Szenen auf irgendwelchen gestohlenen Schiffen, aber ich habe das Buch trotzdem sehr gerne gelesen. LEIDER hat mich das Ende dann aber nochmal richtig enttäuscht und auch der Ausgangspunkt der Geschichte hat gegen Ende eigentlich komplett an Bedeutung verloren. Ich möchte hier jetzt nicht zu viel spoilern, aber ich sage nur: Das gestohlene Familien Erbe?? Trotzdem ein solides Buch und jeder, der die morally grey women liebt, wird Lizzy auch in sein Herz schließen!
