Bury Your Gays

I finished this book in two days, because I could barely put it down. This book follows a gay screenwriter fighting against the popular 'bury your gays' trope, often used in media, where queer characters' stories have to end in tragedy. I appreciated how determined Misha was and found myself cheering him on the entire time. As weird and whacky as the story got at times, it still felt surpisingly sincere and relatable to me. Lots of great commentary on how queer stories are often handled in Hollywood. Some of the side characters fell a little flat and there were some moments that were maybe trying to do too much, when the best points were already made. That is why I can't give this a full 5/5.
