Catalyst A Rogue One Novel

After finishing “Andor” I fell into a little “Star Wars” shaped rabbit hole, craving more of these characters and more of the timeperiod the story takes place. Being especially obsessed with Krennic (I have a weakness for villains) and Ben Mendelsohn’s portrayal of the character, I knew I wanted to start with “Catalyst”, basically a prequel to “Rogue One” and therefore “Andor”. I wasn’t disappointed. “Catalyst” delivered on every front. We get to see how Galen Erso started working for Krennic on his energy project and how the Director rose to power through him, not hesitating to step over dead bodies to achieve his goal of building the Death Star. We also get a little inside into the Ersos’ family life thanks to the story being told from Galen’s, Lyra’s, Krennic’s and Tarkin’s point of view. It was definitely a good book to learn more about the characters’ past.
