After loving Elsie Silver's Chestnuts Springs series, I had high expectations for “Wild Love” - and those were more than exceeded. I learned to love the book after the first few chapters, even though it was very different from the Chestnuts Spring series. Aside from the smalltown/country setting, the book had its own unique style. Elsie Silver told us a story about friendship, feminism, love, self-acceptance and passion. And at the center of this book is an incredibly beautiful love story, of two people who learn to love each other both as children and as adults, they are here for each other and drive each other crazy in the most beautiful way in the world. This book simply had everything and, above all, an incredible charm. I laughed out loud so many times or couldn't hold back tears because it was so heartbreaking. I was so captivated that I can now say that I have found a little highlight of the year for me, and I am already looking forward to the second book in the series.

Ford and Rosie have known each other since childhood and are self-proclaimed hate-friends. Even when they cross paths again in the small Canadian town of Rose Hill, nothing seems to have changed. Or so they think. What they don’t expect, however, is that Ford had feelings for the little sister of his best friend back then, and Rosie slowly begins to realize that Ford means more to her than she’s willing to admit. Wild Rose and its protagonists truly won me over! You get to know the characters' emotions, fears, and desires, and you can’t help but laugh at the easy Enemies-to-Lovers romance between them, or occasionally fan yourself for some cool air. The story centers around people in their early thirties, which is incredibly refreshing and enjoyable. Additionally, you get glimpses of family drama and read about themes that some might relate to all too well. A definite recommendation!

(Despite him being a billionaire) One of the standout features of this book for me is the cozy atmosphere. It’s the kind of book you’d want to curl up with on a chilly autumn day, where small-town life feels warm and inviting. The secondary characters, including the members of the recreational bowling team, add a rich layer of humor and heart to the story, setting the stage for future books in the series. I couldn't resist jumping straight into the second book in the series after finishing Wild Love. The connection between Ford and Rosie continues to evolve, and it’s refreshing to see how their relationship grows even after the first book. If you love witty banter, sizzling chemistry, and a well-paced plot, Wild Love is a must-read!
