    Buch (Taschenbuch)

    Sapphic love and female rage

Such a beautiful story based on the myth of Psyche and Eros. This book is about strong, independent women who, throughout the story, slowly fight back against the lies and abuse which have shaped their lives. The love story felt incredibly tender and I liked how different familial bonds where explored, both the sweet and toxic kinds. A great recommendation if you love greek mythology!

    Buch (Taschenbuch)

    Sisterhood and Greek Mythology

I will begin by saying that it was very easy to get hooked into this story. The plot was interesting, the writing flowed well and I liked the heavy use of greek mythology throughout the book. Where it fell a bit flat for me, unfortunately, was that the plot felt predictable throughout the book. The characters could have had a bit more depth, and some of the decision making, especially towards the end of the book, felt like some of the characters lacked the power of logical thought. I would also not really consider this book a romance, as there were maybe ten sentences in the entire book that were romantic. It read more like a story about sisterhood and overcoming seemingly impossible challenges in a village ruled by horrible greedy men.
