Such an amazing sequel

Bewertet: eBook (ePUB)

After absolutely loving The Hurricane Wars by Thea Guanzon, I was so excited to see how Talasyn and Alaric‘s continues in the second book, A Monsoon Rising.   Talasyn and Alaric are light and dark, and I love how this imagery is continued in this book. The two are very opposite but just work together and with the Moonless Dark, they have a new threat. This created such great suspense and I couldn’t put the story down.   In addition, there is still a lot of tension between Talasyn and Alaric and that made me love their moments even more and the spicy scenes were great as well. This book is definitely more romance focused, and I was here for it. I always love seeing how these two combine their powers and the action and fighting scenes were phenomenal. And the ending blew me away and I’m beyond excited for the next book.   Highly recommended checking out The Hurricane Wars Series and this was an amazing sequel. 5 stars.   (Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an arc.)

What a beautiful sequel! I love Talasyn and Alaric so much. Their chemistry is off the charts… This book was definitely a bit more spicy than the first one but no complaints, the spice was actually well written in my opinion. The world building in this series has been incredible and stunning so far. While the focus of these books definitely lies on the romance, the fantasy aspect didn’t just get brushed off. It’s good and interesting world building. And the plot feels thoroughly fleshed out as well. Overall so so happy I am finally reading this series and I am fuming at the thought that there is not even an announcement for the next book…

A Monsoon Rising

Bewertet: Buch (Gebundene Ausgabe)

Where should I start? How should I start?! This book exceeded everything I wanted from the second volume! The world building, the politics, the magical realm and of course the romance between Talasyn and Alaric. Their relationship is as fragile as it is strong and grows stronger and more unforgettable with every page turned! Quite literally a monsoon of emotions and being torn between one side and the other you really feel you belong to! There were scenes where I laughed, almost cried and really rooted for them. Scenes that will stay with me for a long time. A certain library scene definitely did! Not only Talasyn and Alaric have grown on me, but also characters like Sevraim with his charm and his constant antics and sayings, Elagbi with his fatherly protective instinct and and and! I'm down for them! I really, really like them and I think I'll just read everything Thea Guanzon writes! If you already liked „The Hurricane Wars", you will be thrilled by „A Monsoon Rising"! •Enemies to Lovers •Shadow and Light •Political Marriage •Dragons

A Monsoon Rising

If I'm completely honest, I did not notice that this wasn't a duology before I got to the ending of this book. I really don't know why or how I got to that conclusion, but, well, here we are. Sadly it skewed my opinion of this story teeny tiny bit, because the whole time I was thinking "how the hell is this supposed to end". Well in hindsight, this was a pretty fine book and it was a lot of fun to read! (Even if I am a bit miffy that it is again a trilogy) I'm eager to know how this is going to go down :)
