⭐ 4,5 | Iron Flame hat mich als heiß ersehnte Fortsetzung von Fourth Wing nicht enttäuscht! Rebecca Yarros Schreibstil wirft einen wieder sofort ins Geschehen und es ging turbulent weiter. Besonders spannend empfand ich die Charakterentwicklung von Violet. Im ersten Band hat sie zu Beginn wirklich so schwach und unsicher gewirkt und sich nach oben gekämpft, aber im zweiten Band beweist sie nun richtig, wie Badass sie mittlerweile ist. Weitere Charaktere wurden vorgestellt und wie schon im ersten Buch begegnete ich ihnen erneut mit sehr starken Emotionen in jede Richtung. Die Story war insgesamt wieder wirklich spannend geschrieben und lieferte einige Momente, wo mir der Mund offen stehen blieb dank diverser Plot Twists. Vor allem gegen Ende konnte ich das Buch nicht mehr aus der Hand legen. Einzig und allein die Dynamik und Situation zwischen Violet und Xaden hat mich zwischendurch genervt sowie ein gewisses Love Triangle (oder Love Quadrangle…). Was ich als sehr schade empfand, da es in meinen Augen wirklich nicht nötig war, um Drama zu erzeugen. Dennoch empfehle ich das Buch absolut weiter, wenn einem bereits der erste Band gefallen hat, denn diese Fortsetzung hat es in sich.

Fourth Wing was already a fantastic start to this series and Iron Flame was just as good. They are the two books that got me reading regularly again. Turns out I did not know that my life was missing something until I met Violet, Xaden, Tairn, Sgaeyl and Andarna. That series God Tier to me now. After book two I can honestly say that nothing I can write here will do it justice. Read it and embark on the journey of an unusual young women at a war college and the challenges and trials she must face and endure. Once I started reading Iron Flame, I could not put it back down. The story was captivating and fast-paced. There was never “a right time” to put down the book for a break. The tension was great and often palpable. I did not know what a ʺbook hangoverʺ was until I finished this romantasy. I was unable to pick up anything else for three days (Onyx Storm had not been released at the time). I had to do some serious thinking about everything that happened and about the things that did not happen. I had so many questions and the wildest theories because this part of the story ends with a massive cliffhanger. I kept turning the last page over and over thinking – That cannot be it! You cannot let the book end like this! It was truly aggravating. There is so much potential for various story arcs, and I am in for it all the way. I fell in love even more with the main characters (even though Violet was a little annoying at times) and there are great dynamics between all of them and their dragons. Tairn is a fabulous creation. I found myself smiling and smirking while reading his parts. Tairn and Andarna’s feisty exchanges were hugely enjoyable.
