Apples Dipped in Gold

I immediately fell in love with Lore. The male protagonist in this book stole my heart in an instant. The story is again funny and takes root in different fairytales (some more known than others). I had some trouble warming up to Samara, our female lead . Her whole life she was tortured by her brothers but I didn't quite understand why she never left and just accepted her fate as it is. She needed the saving of a dubious prince and another one after the first one managed to die right at the beginning. In fact she really was a little helpless throughout the whole book to be honest. That still doesn't change the fact that 'apples dipped in gold' is a fun read with lots of magic and mischief. Part 2 might not have topped the first book but I am still looking forward to the next part of the series.

This book is very short, but a somewhat fun read for people who are looking for some change and something light to read in a couple sittings. I personally didn't quite like the writing style, because I am simply unused to it. I didn't like how the wannabe character development was pushed onto them. It didn't make sense. I didn't like the ending, even though it was expected. It felt too rushed and not developed enough.
