Who's Afraid of Gender?

For those privy to gender and feminist studies, Judith Butler needs no introduction. There's no way around their works, pioneering their respective fields, and while this book doesn't necessarily offer any new insights, it's still important in its own right. As such, it rephrases many of the arguments Butler already made in previous works, clearly meant for a broader audience than just within academic circles. Considering the current political climate concerning the issue of gender and its theory, Butler addresses many of the arguments revolving around sex, gender and its performance as well as the moral panic incited by certain famous individuals. I'd recommend this book to anyone who's always been keen to read Butler but got put off by the writing, this one might be just for you.
