What Happens in Amsterdam

I love Amsterdam and the Netherlands, and I’ve been there so many times that it feels like a second home. However, it’s rarely the setting in romance novels and I was so excited when What Happens in Amsterdam by Rachel Lynn Solomon came out and I immediately had to read it.   Dani and Wouter met in LA, and they shared a lot of firsts and were each other’s first love. I loved seeing the glimpses from the past and they lost contact when Wouter returned to his home in the Netherlands.   Dani wants to exceed in life, and she strives for perfection which is something I could totally relate to. She experiences a few losses and heartbreak and wants to be more independent and therefore moves across the world and starts a new life in Amsterdam. I loved seeing how she experiences her new home and I’ve done a lot of the things myself and I loved seeing this setting.   Wouter is a physiotherapist and I liked seeing how he got into this job. His family is really close, and I loved seeing their interactions. Wouter is a total sweetheart and I loved how uplifting and supportive he is.   They have such a meet cute when they see each other in Amsterdam again and I was rooting for them from the beginning. A lot of lucky coincidence pushed them back together and the whole marriage of convenience aspect was just perfect. Their romance is just so sweet with a few spicy moments and I loved all the domestic scenes with Wouter‘s dog and post-it’s.   What Happens in Amsterdam not only has a perfect setting but I adored Dani and Wouter‘s story so much. 5 stars.
