At this point I am convinced that Taylor Jenkins Reid laced the pages of her books with crack, that’s how addicting they are! This was one of my most anticipated books of the year and it was absolutely everything I hoped for. It’s a love story, yes, but about so much more than just the love between two people. It’s about the love we have for the things we do. The love for our family and friends. And ultimately, love for the world and the universe. The setting was masterfully researched, the plot was more than gripping, and the characters and their struggles were so real. This is a book that I will be recommending countless times, I am sure about that.

Atmosphere ist unter meinen Top 10 Büchern die ich jemals gelesen habe. Ich habe durch dieses Buch so viel neuses über mich selbst gelernt und mich zum ersten mal in einem Buch wiedergefunden bzw. gesehen gefühlt. Ein Atmeberaubendes Gefühl. Tayler Jenkins Reid hat meiner Meinung nach mit Atmosphere ein noch nie dagewesenes Meisterwerk geschaffen das mich auf so vielen Ebenen berührt hat.

I loved every second of this book

This book is everything I didn't know I needed.  The story is about space, stars, and astronauts but also about so much more. It's about family and friendships, love, grief, dreams and ambitions. It addresses queerness in the '80s, and women in male-dominated fields, breaking barriers and making history. Reid's beautiful, atmospheric writing ties everything together with such passion and emotion, pulling you deeper into the story with every page. The story makes you feel the vastness of space, and how tiny we are in it all. But also, how important we are to the people we love, and the responsibility we take on in life, even when we feel insignificant. The setting is so good and well researched, I didn't even know I was that interested in space before reading this book. And the characters? They're so authentic and real, I grew such a deep emotional connection to them. Absolutely one of my favorite books this year.

What an amazing book! So sad, yet so full of hope. I truly loved every single second of it, and I’m really happy with how the characters and the plot developed. This story gave me hope for a kinder, more understanding future. Definitely keep some tissues on hand!
