Christmas Fling

A festive, feel-good rom-com, that delivers plenty of laughs, charm, and cozy holiday vibes. The fake dating trope is handled with a light, playful touch, making the chemistry between the characters both believable and adorable. Laura’s friend completely steals the show with hilarious moments that add extra sparkle to the story. It’s a warm, funny escape that perfectly captures the magic and chaos of Christmas romance.

Fake dating plus Christmas almost always works for me and I really enjoyed this book too. The writing style is super easy to read and the humor was right up my alley. Based on the cover, however, I had expected much more Christmas spirit, which turned out to be rather sparse in the book. On the other hand, I really liked the two main characters, and the slow burn between them was beautifully done. All in all, a sweet, enjoyable story just unfortunately with less Christmas magic than I had hoped for.

Christmas Fling war eine nette, unterhaltsame Lektüre für die Weihnachtszeit. Besonders gefallen hat mir, dass die Autorin den schottischen Akzent der Figuren authentisch verschriftlicht hat – auch wenn ich nicht alles verstanden habe, passt das gut zur Geschichte, da auch die Hauptfigur Schwierigkeiten hat, den Akzent zu verstehen. Die beiden Hauptfiguren waren süß, und auch ihre Freunde haben mir gefallen. Insgesamt ein schönes Buch, das ich gerne gelesen habe, aber es wird wohl nicht zu einem meiner wiederkehrenden Lesefavoriten.

Even though the book often mentioned that Christmas was coming, i still didn‘t really feel I was reading a Christmas book. The holiday elements were there, but the atmosphere just didn‘t come through for me. (Maybe that's just a personal thing.) I did really enjoy Laura and Callum and the whole fake-dating/fake-identidy storyline. They really carried the book for me. Some of the minor characters, on the other hand, got on my nerves a bit. Overall, it‘s a nice read in between, but I would probably have liked it even more if it hadn‘t been presented as a Christmas novel.
