I really enjoyed this book. This is not a romance! I know this book is listen on many enemies to lovers lists but this is NOT a romance book! If you go into it expecting a great love story or redemption ark you will be greatly disappointed. Point of this book is to show how little by little, using fear and propaganda as weapons anyone's morals can be skewed. How ordinary people become spectators that cheer on the gruesome murders of the innocent children.

I could write a whole book about HOW GOOD ALL COLLINS' WORKS ARE! God, I was sooo captivated the whole times! It's crazy what a difference it makes to read Coriolanus' thoughts. Like in the movie, you could somehow sympathize with Snow at the beginning (- who gave them the right to choose Tom Blyth and make him so handsome?) or think that there's a transition from good to evil, that his madness would be triggered, but in the book it was always there. You notice straight away how self-centered, selfish and unscrupulous he is. *insert sparkle emoji* It was really intense to learn more about the origin of the hunger games and Snow's role in it.

„This is the sound of Snow falling“

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

Suzanna Collins does not disappoint. This Book was a masterpiece. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins offers a fascinating look into the dark soul of President Snow and reveals how his past connects to the Hunger Games we already know from the 74th and 75th Games. The author’s writing is incredibly addictive. I was on edge until the very last page. This story has truly stayed with me, and I already want to read it again.

Too bad I'm the bet that you lost at the reaping...

Bewertet: Buch (Gebundene Ausgabe)

...now what will you do when I go to my grave? Contrary to the original Hunger Games novels, the Snow prequel is written in third person. This should be your first hint that you are not going to be rooting for Snow, not for one minute. You are meant to feel disconnected from him from the get go, because Coriolanus Snow is everything you probably imagined him to be; he is ruthless, unscrupulous, cunning and only has one goal in mind: to be the one who brings the first disctrict 12 winner forward during the 10th Hunger Games, where he and his classmates are assigned the tributes as a class project. What he wasn't expecting: his tribute, Lucy Gray Baird, isn't only charming to the masses of the capitol... and soon the line between mere tribute and human starts to blur as Coriolanus develops feelings for the girl. A fascinating change of POV, Snow as the most hated character from the Hunger Games series becomes the protagonist of this prequel centered around the 10th annual Hunger Games, where the Capitol wasn't quite as excited about the games as we know it to be. Dive into a world of betrayal, intrigues and...romance?
