We who will die by Stacia Stark captivated me from the very first page. A strong protagonist and an action-packed plot that was so much fun. It was dark, exciting and featured interesting characters. I can’t wait for book two! -

A lot of potential
The book introduces many interesting concepts: a deadly, gladiator-style trial, a refreshing magic system with sigilborns, and some genuinely cool powers. However, it tries to juggle too much at once. On top of the sigil system, there are also vampires, which raises the question of whether the sigils alone could have been explored more deeply instead. Additionally, the cast is overcrowded, and the inclusion of two love interests further dilutes the characters. As a result, personalities and plot twists feel rather shallow. The pacing is fast, but not always in a good way; many conflicts are resolved far too easily. That said, the book is undeniably addictive and very easy to read. An enjoyable choice if you’re looking for something entertaining but not particularly deep.
