Hunt the Villain

Rina Kent heard our prayers and gave us another masterpiece. The son of my absolute favorite couple ever: Vaughn! No number of words are enough to describe how excited I was to read Vaughns' story, and to see Kirill and Sasha again, this time as parents!!! I was so over the moon when she announced this! Not only because of Kirill and Sasha, but also because of Vaughn himself. We almost see nothing of him in the Legacy of Gods series, even though he is part of The Heathens: The White Mask. He was always so mysterious, and that's what made him so interesting. What I liked most about the book is how obsessed Yulian and Vaughn are with each other. God, they are so in love!!! Yulian was yearning for Vaughn the ENTIRE TIME, and it really melted my heart; he is so sweet! And even though they are quite the opposite, they match so perfectly, and I LOVE them so so so much as a couple! Also, I was kind of surprised this book took such a sad turn. Nothing could have prepared me for the rollercoaster of emotions it put me through. Hunt the Villain is emotional and heartbreaking, with absolutely beautiful moments!!! The dynamic between Yulian and Vaughn is hilarious and passionate and absolutely perfect. I love their obsession for each other and that everything is mutual. It may not seem like this at first, but they were on the same level with each other from the beginning and it shows between the lines. Rina Kent outdid herself with this book – no with this series. I loved the little cameos of Gareth and Kayden because Kiss the Villain is still my favourite book by her, can't change my mind, but Hunt the Villain is very close. So many raw emotions which one must feel through while reading. Great book with a big recommendation.

This book was amazing. I loved everything about it. The story was so exciting and emotional. While reading, I laughed, I cried, and I felt so many different emotions. The characters felt too real to me, and I cared about them a lot. I always wanted to know what happens next, couldn't put this book aside. The writing was easy to understand but still very beautiful. It pulled me into the story and didn't let me go. This book made me feel so much. I would 100% recommend it.

After I dnf'd book one and having very strong (negative) feelings about that one, I was almost going to pass on Hunt the Villain. But like so many times I let other reviews convince me to give it a shot ... and what can I say: thank you to all these reviews! I got absolutely sucked into the story from chapter one and I couldn't stop reading! One star deduction for the last third of the book, which I thought was a little bit weaker than the rest! I'm not a fan of dark romance and the possessivness that often comes with it. In case that is not a problem for you, this might very well be a five star read! PS: You don't need to read book one to understand this one!
