Wolf Worm

This book was a true "Kingfisher Classic!" I absolutely love her style of telling stories and "Wolf Worm" was no exception! The plot begins pretty calmly and you get to know the characters and the circumstances in which they're currently in. Sonia Wilson desperately needs a job, and since she is a 30 year old single woman in 1899, she cannot exactly be picky about her employer. As a scientific illustrator she got hired by a slightly peculiar entomologist Dr. Halder. Time goes by and Sonia's scientific curiosity gets the worse of her, when she makes a truly horrific discovery. This book really is NOT for squeamish readers as some of the body horror elements are pretty disgusting (and I mean this in the best horror way possible), for Kingfishers descriptions are very rich in detail. I loved every second of my reading time with this book and can really recommend it (although at some point I wasn't very fond of my lunch during some passages of the book :P) for every Kingfisher and horror lovers.
