Sublimation

"Sublimation" is an interesting thought experiment about different versions of oneself throughout ones life, with the special focus on immigration. The concept itself is really intriguing and reminded me of the show "Severance". I had high expectations and they were not disappointed! Isabel J. Kim not only writes a compelling plot and characters but a thoughtful piece of literature. While reading, I was sad that it did not come out two years earlier (before I graduated from university) since it would have been great to analyse liguistically but also culturally. There are so many interesting and good things about this book that it is hard to put in words without spoiling the book, so I am going to keep this short: If you have any interest in Science-Fiction and/or immigrant stories, please read this book!
