Ever since I came across the premise of this story, I knew I had to read it immediately. Consisting of two timelines, this book has to be spun around in the middle after finishing one timeline in order to read the second. I chose to start with the 1880's and then spin the book to move on to the 1930's. After having read the whole book, I am glad that I read it in this order as for me, the 1880's timeline laid the groundwork for the later timeline and helped me very much in deciphering the twists and turns of the 1930's. Absolutely nothing is as it seems and I had such a good time in investigating alongside Ken Kourian to find out what really happened to his friend Oliver Tooke. The riddles and small snippets of clues were perfect to keep the ball rolling and to hold up the narrative suspense at all times. If you are looking for a story to rack your brain about and you love mysteries, this is definitely the one for you.
