    Buch (Taschenbuch)

    I devoured every page!

A gripping, brutal, and action-packed dystopian novel that is sure to thrill fans of "Divergent", "The Hunger Games", and "Silver Elite"! Against her will, Shadrea becomes a symbol of the rebellion against the Heart, making her a target for those in power. After a failed assassination attempt, she is forced into an arranged marriage with none other than Greyson—the president's son. Yet Greyson is far from the obedient son his father desires; he, too, rebels against his father’s structures and expectations, albeit in his own unique way. I was particularly impressed by the portrayal of this ruthless dystopian world. The rich and poor are strictly segregated, with the privileged upper class looking down on those from the impoverished districts. The setting is harsh, brutal, and at times truly terrifying—which is precisely why the protagonists fit into it so well. Shadrea and Greyson are not watered-down characters; they are tough as nails and ready to stand up for their convictions. For me, however, the highlight was the supporting cast. They are given their own backstories, secrets, and histories, adding significant depth to the plot. Many of them were far more than mere peripheral figures and enriched the story in their own distinct ways. The plot moves at a brisk pace, delivering constant surprises through numerous twists. The ending, in particular, won me over: brilliant, unexpected, and definitely not something I had anticipated. At the same time, the book tackles important themes. Feminism and the question of equality play a significant role, demonstrating that certain societal issues remain relevant regardless of time or setting. All in all, an exciting, uncompromising dystopian novel featuring strong characters, a fascinating world, plenty of action, and a memorable ending that leaves you clamoring for a sequel.

    Buch (Taschenbuch)

    Nothing is what it seems

A fast-paced dystopian story with interesting world-building and compelling characters. The story is primarily character-driven, which works really well. Seemingly secondary characters are given plenty of focus and become increasingly important, which I really enjoyed. The writing style makes the pages fly by, and I was hooked from the very beginning. The ending, in particular, is nerve-wracking and full of surprises. I'm already yearning for book two!

    Buch (Taschenbuch)

    Captivating!

A dark, dystopian world where murder and violence rule. A forbidden romance, simmering tension, and relentless suspense make this an absolutely unforgettable and unputdownable read!
