Bone In The Throat

Reading this book makes you feel like you're in the middle of Little Italy in New York and part of the big mafia family. There is Tommy who tries so hard not to get part of it and his uncle who is in the mafia and he tries so hard to convince him to get involved. So he asks him for one and only one favour which will end in a big disaster. Anthony Bourdain's style of writing is so fluent, he uses a lot of slang terms and while you're reading you feel like you're actually listening to their conversation. It makes a lot of fun to read it and I always hoped Tommy would take the right decision. Bourdain's always at point with his writing the tension builds up and you can't really put the book away before you know how Tommy will cope. I can really recommend this book and yes you will find a few recipes in the book for that Tommy is of course a souschef and working in a restaurant.
