Thorn Season

I was one of the people who bought this book for its beautiful design and stayed for the story! Alissa is a witty, strong fmc with lots of suiters fawning over her. The story might seem shallow at first but the plot twist at the end was unpredictable. I cannot wait for the second book!

A Thorn Season by Kiera Azar completely drew me in from the very beginning – especially because of its unique setting and strong, layered characters. The world feels vivid and immersive, with a slightly dark, almost sensual atmosphere that carries through the entire story. What stood out to me most were the characters: they feel real, flawed, and show meaningful development over time, which made it easy to become emotionally invested. The relationships and character dynamics are intense and add real depth to the story. It’s not just about the plot, but also about trust, boundaries, and personal growth. For me, A Thorn Season was a thoroughly enjoyable reading experience – especially for readers who love atmospheric fantasy with complex characters and emotional depth.

For all my girlies (and guys ofc) that love heavy ballgowns , fantasy and a sizzeling romance. To be honest, I originally bought this book simply because it looks beautiful and has gorgeous painted edges. Secondly, because I was interested in the story. But what seemed like nothing special at first ended up blowing me away in the best possible way. In this book, we follow the story of a magic user ,with the name Alissa, who hides in plain sight. In this universe, magic users are hunted and forbidden because they are considered dangerous. She gets called to the royal court for the annual "Rose Season" – and that's when the trouble really starts. Neither she nor her three potential suitors are deterred, though – both of them are right on her heels. At first, I had doubts because it sounded a lot like a Bridgerton knock-off. But it quickly developed into so much more and completely surprised me. It's a worthy YA-Romantasy debut from the author. If you liked Bridgerton, I'm sure you'll enjoy this book – just like I did. It's also perfect if you're looking for something with less spice, just a hint of romance, but with a strong focus on a good story and exciting adventure. I highly recommend this book and can't wait for the second one :)

A captivating story that completely pulled me in with its intense, charged atmosphere. The story is incredibly exciting and captivating, especially the slow burn between the characters, which I absolutely loved! The strong female protagonist also won me over. The author's writing style is easy to read and wonderfully atmospheric. Overall, it was a fantastic start to the series that definitely leaves you craving more; especially with THAT ending! Perfect for anyone looking for a thrilling fantasy story with Bridgerton vibes, packed with intrigue and secrets.
