Young D'Artagnan embarks on his journey into chivalry, heading to Paris to meet his father's friend and secure a position in the King's Guard. From his very first day, however, he clashes with one of the Cardinal's knights and three of the King's valiant knights, forging friendships and enmities that will endure for a considerable period.
These are tales of love and chivalry set in a time when nobles and clergymen in 17th-century France vied for influence and favor with the King. Both the Cardinal and the King assembled their own forces of knights and fierce guards, fueling rivalries and often leading to violent clashes and duels in the streets of Paris between the followers of the nobleman de Tréville and the men of Cardinal Richelieu. The three knights, Aramis, Athos, and Brutus, were the bravest and most formidable of de Tréville's men; it was said that only an army could defeat any one of them. But despite that, they accepted the brave young man "D'Artagnan" into their small group to serve the country, after they were impressed by his courage and noble character following one of the duels, thus beginning a new phase of exciting adventures against the arrogant men of the Cardinal, whose heroes are our three knights and the fourth of them, "D'Artagnan."
