Meine letzte Rezension The Wild Robot von Peter Brown
This story is so beautiful and had me in tears basically all the way through the second half of the book. A robot lands, through a series of (un)fortunate events, on a small uninhabited island and needs to learn how to survive in the wild. Along the way she learns how to adapt and after some difficulties, she’s able to find friends and a family within the animals of the island. I don’t wanna spoil too much about the plot, but let me tell you, it is so WORTH READING!! The book is filled with beautiful illustrations and there’s even an animated movie you can watch after reading the book, if you haven’t cried yet enough.

The Wild Robot

This is the first book in a series of 5 and I can just highly reccomend it! This series has it all... friendship, love, revenge, as well as magic and heartbreak. These books and their characters will always have a special place in my heart.

    Der Hobbit

    Viel muss man zu diesem Klassiker wahrscheinlich nicht sagen... Es ist jedes Mal wieder als würde ich zum ersten Mal mit Bilbo auf ein unerwartetes Abenteuer ziehen. Und durch Tolkiens wunderbares Worldbuilding und seine bildliche Erzählweise gibt es bei jedem Reread doch noch neue Details zu entdecken. Für mich ein absoluter Comfort-Read und die perfekte kleine Auszeit für jeden kleinen und großen Fantasy Leser.

    The Song of Achilles. Anniversary Edition

    This retelling of the story of Achilles through the eyes of Patroclus is filled with emotion and love. You as the reader get to see the two grow up together and experience the development of the friendship and love between them. The tender moments between Achilles and Patroclus are extremely touching and left me with a fuzzy feeling. All the more devastating are the later developments (which isn't a spoiler because everyone who knows their Greek mythology knows how their story ends). Madeline Miller is the modern master of Greek mythology and her writing is incredibly atmospheric. This is definitely an all time favourite!!! And as a true fan I absolutely had to buy this stunning anniversary edition!

    Problematic Summer Romance

    I stared this, read the first 40 pages and was instantly OBSESSED!! Then my book bestie told me I had to read “Not In Love” before this one, which for whatever reason I hadn’t done until then. (I know, shame on me) So of course I finished “Not In Love” within 24 hours, just so that I could get back to Maya and Conor! I still very much enjoyed Rue’s and Eli’s story, don’t get me wrong, but in the back of my mind there was still a summer romance in Italy calling for me. Anyways... I’m telling you all this just to paint a vivid picture of what a grip this romcom had on me from the very beginning. This one has it all, the yearning, the banter, the tension... All of that thrown together with the most beautiful and romantic setting in Sicily for an absolutely perfect summer romance. The only thing that would have made this experience even more perfect, to read this while sunbathing on the beach.

    Carry On

    I was a huge Fan of “Fangirl” by Rainbow Rowell, so naturally I had to read “Carry On” as soon as it was released. I loved the snippets of Simon and Baz we got in “Fangirl” and therefore I was really excited when they got their whole story told. This is perfect for every Potterhead who needs the Hogwarts vibes but doesn’t wanna reread the series for the 100th time. The chemistry between Simon and Baz is sooooo good and I very much enjoyed the tension between the two. My favourite part is when Simon visits Baz at his family-home and all the chaos that ensues from there. I enjoyed every second of this queer magical mystery tale and it's been one of my favourites for years now.

    This Fatal Kiss

    This was such a refreshing read! I really enjoyed all of the mythical beings and aspects of Slavic folklore woven into this fascinating fantasy novel. The whole vibe was just so magical and beautiful. I also really enjoyed the budding romance between the three protagonists. It felt real and believable, it had everything a REAL LOVETRIANGLE should have!! The characters all had their own intrigue and worked really well together. The banter was entertaining and I loved all of the mischievous little creatures. The found family trope is one of my favourites and was very well executed. The only reason this doesn’t get five stars from me, is because I expected this to be a standalone novel. The ending felt very much like a setup for a sequel. I mean I’m still curious to see how the story will continue, i just would have preferred if this was a little longer and a one and done kinda deal.

    Where the Dark Stands Still

    Howl's Moving Castle meets Polish folklore A sentient Manor in an enchanted forest, with a mysterious and intriguing master, a girl with magical abilities on the journey to find her place in this world, and loads of fascinating (sometimes terrifying) mythical creatures roaming through the forest and it’s surrounding villages. You definitely can’t tell this is a debut novel! The writing is absolutely beautiful, the story touching and personal, and the found family trope is executed to perfection. From page one you get sucked into this fairy tale world and you can feel all the love that was put into this. This fairy tale ensnared me from the beginning to the very end!!!

    Voice of the Ocean

    Little mermaid retelling meets pirates of the Caribbean. In the beginning I thought this would be a very classic, close to the original retelling of the tale of the little mermaid... boy o boy was I in for a surprise! The story played homage to Disney’s Ariel as well as the original tale by Hans Christian Andersen. I don’t even want to say too much about the plot, because the less you know the more you’ll enjoy it I’d say. Just this much: If you watched Kpop Demon Hunters and enjoyed it, you’ll probably enjoy this one too! In my opinion: Raiden = Jinu

    The Darkness Outside Us

    As a non Sci-fi reader this was a bit out of my comfort zone but I was very pleasantly surprised. This scape opera made me laugh and cry, had me absolutly shook, so all in all I had a very good time reading this. It's heart shattering and heart warming at the same time.
