Meine letzte Rezension Strange Pictures von Uketsu

Uketsu managed to keep me entertained and guessing till the end! This mystery novel felt so interactive and it was so fun to try and figure out how the different Pictures and people are connected. It's one of those books I wish I could read again for the first time :)

The Poppy War

All I knew before I started reading it was that this book had a strong female lead; I was not prepared for the emotional rollercoaster I was about to enter. It was everything I didn't know I needed. From strategic war planning to fighting and emotions of all kinds. It made me sob violently but also laugh. The world-building was amazing, and the characters had such depth to them. The main character had struggles with her moral compass, which added complexity to the narrative. R.F Kuangs writing was amazing; she is able to suck you into the story. I am so excited to start the second book!

One Day follows the two main characters, Emma and Dexter, over the course of 20 years. It shows how they enter adulthood and how their lives change when faced with reality. It is funny, beautiful and heartbreaking. I bawled my eyes out multiple times. It's definitely not the typical love story you'd expect!

Dieses Buch spiegelt das emotionale Chaos einer 15 Jährigen perfekt wieder. Die Probleme und Gedanken die Charlie hat und denen sie sich stellt, sind sicher vielen Jugendlichen nicht fremd. Immer wieder habe ich mich selbst in ihr wiedergefunden und konnte viele Situationen sehr nachempfinden. Ich lege das wirklich jedem ans Herzen, der eine schöne coming of age Story lesen möchte!

The Picture of Dorian Gray

One of the first classics I have read was "The Picture of Dorian Gray" and it made me fall in love with the genre. Oscar Wilde had such a captivating writing style and a special way of describing the situations the characters were put in. With the dark atmosphere and the intriguing themes in the book, it is definitely worth reading!
