Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief

I read the entire Percy Jackson series for the first time as an adult, and I absolutely loved it. As someone who grew up loving adventure, action and mythical creatures this is an absolutely fantastic read for both young and adult audiences. Highly recommend!

15 year's later and still one of my favorite series of all time. Percy will forever be the ultimate book boyfriend and just all time best main character ever . And everyone who reads fantasy should read this at least once! * or be like me and read it once a year (;

The lightning thief is such a good start to a great story! The first book does a great job at pulling the reader into a fandom, that will never let them go. The storyline, atmosphere and characters are enchanting, you can’t get enough of them. Following Percy on his journey, the reader experiences all these emotionally charged moments and funny situations, as well as a fair bit of confusion on Percy’s part. Even though some themes are heavy, the book makes up for it with a fair bit of humor. Rick Riordan has mastered the balance between seriousness and silliness, creating one of the best book serious I‘ve ever read. The plottwist at the end makes for a great transition into the next book and is on top of that really surprising. You just forget this one important detail due to relief of them finishing the quest. Rick Riordan really knows how to write a fantastic book. If you’re not sure about starting a new series then give this one a try, it will not disappoint you.

After discovering that he is a demigod and the son of Poseidon, the unexplainable things in twelve-year-old Percy Jackson’s life start to fall into place in. Now, at least for the summer, he is supposed to be safe from monsters at Camp Half-Blood. He is definitely *not* supposed to be framed for the crime of stealing Zeus’ Masterbolt. But such is life. In order to prove his innocence and to prevent a war between the gods, he must now embark on a perilous quest alongside Grover, a Satyr, and Annabeth, a daughter of Athena. A childhood classic that shaped my love for reading fantasy. A must-read!! ⚡

An easy read with a lot of adventure, magic, and mythology! Each and every chapter had an intriguing name that I found myself eager to find out about, since they were odd and often touched by humor. Yes, Percy Jackson is a children's book. But not ONLY a children's book. I loved spending time in this world, and I have the feeling it is always going to bring me great comfort in the future. This was such a fun book! The good news is that there is a next book, and the even better news is that there is a next book after the next book. I’m looking forward to diving more into this and accompanying Percy, Annabeth, and hopefully Grover on more quests!
