The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings Deluxe Pocket Boxed Set

Ich habe die Bücher alle auf Deutsch gelesen und nunja, da musste die wunderschöne englische Ausgabe eben auch nochmal sein :) ich bin super zufrieden und sie ist wirklich wunderschön! Sie ist in etwa so groß wie meine Handfläche :)

Eine schöne, handliche Ausgabe in Leder Optik. Liegt weich und biegsam in der Hand. Die Schrift und Karten sind sehr klein. Wirkt wertig und gut verarbeitet. Made in China. Ueber den Roman selber gibt es nichts zu sagen. Lord of the Rings ist gemeinhin bekannt. Deswegen diese Rezension nur zur Ausgabe.

These books look great on a shelf, but they are honestly a pain to actually read. The size is way too small, and the tiny font makes you squint just to get through a single sentence. To make matters worse, the text is shoved so close to the edges that it almost runs off the pages. They’re cute as a decoration or a gift, but the layout is a mess and totally impractical for a real reader. Great for the "aesthetic," but definitely not for your eyes.

This is a review of this particular set rather than the well known books. And unfortunately, it is of a poor quality. It is obvious that at this price point one cannot expect leather desks but these does not hold even as a cheap imitation, they are just soft rubber desks and not even trying to hide it (they look so much better in the photos). The font size is too small to make it readable while not staying stationary under nice lamp, making it impractical to read on a travel. Overall, I cannot recommend this set – it is too ugly to be nice set for home but unreadably under usual travelling conditions.

Absolut alles, was man von einem Lord if the Rings Box Set wollen könnte. Die Einbände sind verzaubernd und es sieht alles sehr liebevoll gemacht und geplant aus - bis hin zur Platzierung der fantastischen Illustrationen. Für den Preis ist es schon praktisch ein Schnäppchen. Ich hatte in Online Bewertungen gelesen, dass der Text zu klein sei, jedoch fand ich die Schriftgröße sehr normal für solch dicke Bücher.
