    Buch (Taschenbuch)

    Amazing

I read this little booklet in one evening. I already got to know some of his ideas in his novel ‚The Picture of Dorian Gray‘ and loved to find them collected here again. He has a lot of interesting ideas on various topics. Would buy again!

The author would have loved Tumblr...

A very fun read full of small trains of thought that are often unrelated to one another. I do not agree with the authors views on women that are expressed in the later part of the book but apart from that there were quite a few interesting ideas to be found!

    Buch (Taschenbuch)

RIP Oscar Wilde, you would've loved Twitter!

What a sassy, witty, and funny little book! I read it on the train and couldn't stop laughing. It reads like a series of short diary entries or tweets, showing what Wilde thought completely unapologetically. Of course, he was a product of his time and social status, but he is often remarkably modern, especially regarding same-sex relationships, as a gay man who was oppressed and ultimately imprisoned for who he was. You can't judge everything through a modern lens, but you can certainly appreciate his wit and his beliefs, which were often way ahead of their time. Mostly, though, I just loved his arrogance and humor, he was so funny and so sharp. This book truly shows who Wilde was at his core and proves that drama and gossip aren't gender-based or a product of modern times. Highly recommend!

    Buch (Taschenbuch)

My 2016 self would've loved this book!

Oscar Wildes book ,,Only Dull People Are Brilliant at Breakfast" is a short combination of interesting poems and thoughts that Mr Wilde had. It was entertaining from the start to the finish, especially how witty he was sometimes. Every page was refreshing to read and it's something for inbetween. His way of thinking is interesting and he just blooms with smart thoughts. A read worth it!

    He would have loved Twitter

The way I would make a Twitter account just to follow posts like this. A collection of random thoughts, some of which made me think, some of which I thought were a little bit ridiculous. It was a quick yet fun read. Certainly gave me many things to highlight and think about.
