Kings of the Wyld

I didn‘t expect to like this book so much, but it was a lot of fun, had super relatable and likeable characters and just the right mix of action and emotion. The female characters were a bit superficial, but that wasn’t as important as there not being one single boring page. If you like books by Scott Lynch or maybe Joe Abercrombie, and you like laughing out loud or sit on the edge of your seat because you want to know that all is going well - read this book.

This book feels like you and your friend’s favorite DnD adventure come to life! It is sooo much fun with every character adding something special to the story and you can really feel the author's deep and abiding love for rock ‘n roll. I certainly did not expect such a silly, goofy story about 4 middle-aged men fighting monsters to make me tear up multiple times, but it has some emotional sentiments about friendship, loyalty and fatherly love interwoven throughout, which hit me right in the heart! (Also, where can I get my own owlbear, please?)
