    Lange nicht mehr so ein gutes Buch in der Hand gehabt. Tolle Biografie. Wer Fan ist, wird noch mehr Fan.

    Okay but that's about it

    Hm, I thought the book was okay but fell somewhat flat (or maybe I just expected more from it?). Karen and Georgia, the two authors and moderators of the "My Favorite Murder" podcast, narrate the ups and downs of their lifes while throwing in the occasional murder case. And while their lifes are quite different from how I grew up, I did not really learn anything, they were okay but that's about it. Although, I did look up one or two of the referenced murder stories. One last thing that startled me was when Karen talks about her car back then (a BMW) and calls it a "Nazi engine". Were there no editors to proofread this? The two authors explained several times that they are actually not qualified and enjoy and appreciate that their audience notices and highlights the flaws and mistakes in their podcast storytellings. Maybe the BMW story is just another example of this "imperfect" storytelling where they would benefit from someone correcting them.

    Murderinos, read this.

    just going to share some quotes that boosted my mental health, so, it maybe boosts yours, too, and leads you to decide to read this one-of-a-kind-masterpiece of a book. if you love the podcast, you will love this. and even if you don't know the podcast, it's a very, very good read just as much. why? because the stories shared by Karen and Georgia are deeply moving, raw, real and full of life-learnings. Karen: "You deserve to be happy, no matter what your brain tells you." Karen: "We run around making ourselves miserable and insane trying to be the Best One, when we should really be aiming to become Our True Selves. (...) Your imperfections aren't a reason to hide. They're actually a key to connecting with all the other imperfect humans around you." Georgia: "It doesn't have to be perfect, just f***ing do things." Georgia: "You just have to show up, and once you're there, you might as well do your best." Karen: "Because it doesn't matter if you fail. Your trying is what sets the tone of your whole life story. (...) Why not start brave and bold and believing in yourself?"

    This is an absolute must read...

    This is an absolute must read for all fans of the podcast "My Favorite Murder". Georgia and Karen talk about different phases of their lives in their usual humorous way and manage to also give some universal advise. This is a comfort read for me!
