Ocean hat eine Art zu schreiben, die keinen anderen gleicht. Herzzerreißend, mitfühlend und fesselnd. Es lohnt sich auch die AudioBücher, die er selber einliest. super!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"I'm not telling you a story so much as a shipwreck - the pieces floating, finally legible." Truly, I don't know how to explain this book, because it's not really a linear story, more puzzlepieces of a life that kind of fit together despite time distancing them. When I think about this book, the picture it evokes is the reader sitting in a little boat, carried along by the current of the river that is the characters soul. It's also a study of family dynamics between a son and his mother and how complicated this relationship can be. It's a beautiful ride and absolutely worth a read. More quotes: "Do you ever wonder if sadness and happiness can be combined, to make a deep purple feeling, not good, not bad, but remarkable simply because you didn't have to live on one side or the other?"
