New secrets to unravel and mysteries to solve. Just as addicting as the first one, the story continous where the first Book ends. Personaly this Book as a whole seems more like a filler for the third one, but i still enjoyed reading it. Very exidet for "the Final Gambit" and how everything will come to an end.

The love triangle between Avery and two of the Hawthorne grandsons adds plenty of tension, though it never fully overshadows the core mystery. One of the highlights is watching Avery grow more confident and strategic, learning how to navigate the dangerous game she’s been thrust into. The revelations about her connection to the Hawthornes bring satisfying payoffs while still leaving plenty of threads dangling for the finale. But all in all, the same issue i had with the first book, it couldnt hold my attention all the way through.
