i wish i had known about this book when i was 16/17... i would have carried it around with me everywhere i went it's like existing inside a fragile, hurt memory... this is a gorgeous, heartbreaking book also how much y'all wanna bet sylvia plath was autistic?

A truly bizarre book that had me hooked from the very start. This book encapsulated today's phenomenon of a "Weird Girl Summer" perfectly: The hot and bustling streets of New York in the middle of June, cocktail parties, loud men and a fashion intern, facing the existential dread of being alive in this world. Such a compelling and gripping read, one of my new favorites.

This book portrays authentic emotions and accurately portrays depression. Through the story's progression, you gain a deeper understanding of her emotional state and the choices she's making. Sylvia Plath's way of describing raw emotions felt realistic and coherent. It sucks you into the story and doesn't let you go, even after finishing the last page.
