classic horror meets witty sci-fi
Hilarious, a little bit creepy and absolut endearing! The short chapters meant I flew through this book and I loved Demeters and Stewards banter through out all the differnt incounters with the classical horror creatures. It was a lot of fun, trying to find all the the refrences. I laughed and I cried, who knew that a book about AI's could make me feel so many things. -

MONSTERS IN SPACE
What a creative, unique and well thought-through story! At first I expected "OF MONSTERS & MAINFRAIMES" to be a simple Dracula retelling in space, but—without taking too much away—it ended up being a lot more than that. At its core it's a story about a found family, being different and, well... a spaceship, its robot nurse and their people spanning multiple decades. It was so interesting to recognize names from classic horrors like H.P. Lovecraft's stories or fiction like "Treasure Island" throughout the book. The references were so well placed and the pacing and short chapters made it impossible to put down. The humor made me laugh out loud constantly and the relationships between the characters, as well as the characters on their own, were so easy to love and connect to. I couldn't get enough of them and their interactions, even those with questionable morals (Steve). There wasn't one boring page in this novel and I think it would make an amazing show or movie. The switch of perspectives only added to the way the story came together and the big feelings toward the end. I'm blessed with glorious books lately. Huge recommendation, especially to fans of Becky Chambers, Douglas Adams, TJ Klune & Tamsyn Muir! -

Dracula in space and so much more!
This was so much fun!! A queer space adventure with a, let's say, 'diverse' cast of characters, that is as absurd as is it is charming and heartfelt. The story is fast paced with changing POVs and impeccable dialogue, especially between Demeter and Steward. I was so excited to go wherever the story would take me and quickly became attached to our crew.
