Not quite as good as Armfields first book (Our Wives Under The Sea) but still just as amospheric and dark. Armfields obsession with things being damp and wet all the time is such a clever backdrop to her narratives about human connection. She creates a sense of discomfort both in the worldbuilding and in the interpersonal, making her books a unique and memorable experience! Very readable.
