King Kitt's fate is clear. His plans for his kingdom are precise. The woman on his side, the future queen of Ilya, is cunning. He has everything that many would define as power, yet his dreams and thoughts are haunted by unease—by a female figure who only he seems to see. But where do these thoughts lead him, or rather, where does SHE lead him? Although I find the world of Ilya very exciting and I am always curious about the characters, I don't think this book was necessary. The whole interplay between Kitt and Mara- or Death, was a bit too much for me. I didn't think it was needed for his story, and it didn't really fit. A particularly good part of the book was Lenny and Blair, which was incredibly fun and truly interesting! I hope they get their own book! Otherwise, I'd be ready to let go of the series.

• Powerless novella / Powerless 3.5 || I love the Powerless series with all my heart, but this one ain't it. We get to know more about the happenings and Kitt's doings in Fearless, but we also learn more about the relationship between Lenny and Blair. The new character - Mara / Death - is quite the observer, but not a teller, so we don't know her very well in the end. It was nice to read, but it wasn't necessary imo.
