This book is INCREDIBLE and just proves, that Drews can easily write adult horror while keeping the characters complex and the story as layered as we know from their previous works. Elodie is a unreliable narrator through and through, every chapter adding to the mountain of questions as to *what* exactly is going on in this house; Who and what can we trust? A story that invites to rack your brain over every detail.

I LOVED the previous novels by C.G. Drews, so I was more than delighted that there's now an adult novel by them.... but my hopes crushed fast. There were so many scenes where I wanted to smash my e-reader against a wall, it's frustating.. :c I love their crazy characters and their monstrosity, but when there's a child involved, I'm picky.... especially when this child is autistic... But maybe I'm just not the biggest fan of haunted houses, who knows. I still am more than excited about their new YA novel at the end of the year...
