Ava Reid has yet to disappoint me. INNAMORATA hooked me from the very first chapter with its beautiful, imaginary prose and gothic world. Such interesting, multilayered, flawed characters. Such stunning choices in terms of POV and POV switches. I was fully engrossed in this universe Ava Reid created and Agnes was the perfect perspective to experience it through. So many awful things happen in this book, yet we as readers aren't capable to look away. If you're a fan of gothic fiction, beautiful writing and body-horror, I'd highly recommend picking this book up (after reading the contrnt warnings).

Beautifully written, with a dark atmosphere and an even darker plot. It is dark and grotesque, yet beautiful and romantic at the same time. The characters are compelling, and the story lingers long after the final page. Not for those who are easily disturbed.

Ava Reid put the darkest, twisted, morbid, gorey Fantasy to paper there is. It was disgusting! In a good way haha. But honestly, every taboo topic has put into this book in such a fitting way, it made the whole atmosphere of the book even more lively. Yearning is another book to describe this book, because the forbidden romance in this book is gut wrenching. I would recommend it to Fans of Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon since it has also political feuds between noble houses - just add a breath of Necromancy to it...
