Once Upon a Broken Heart Collector's Edition [Standard edition]

I truly loved everything about this book and the entire series. Stephanie Garber manages to create a world that feels both familiar and completely magical at the same time. Her writing is incredibly vivid and enchanting and I was completely immersed in the story from the very first page. The setting, the little details and all the mysterious elements made the whole story feels like a modern fairy tale that I never wanted to escape from. At the heart of the story is evangeline who, after a great heartbreak makes a bargain with the mysterious Prince Jacks. What initially seems like a simple solution to her problems draws her deeper and deeper into a world filled with magic, curses, secrets and fate. What I especially loved was the dynamic between Evangeline and Jacks. Their relationship is filled with tensions, secrets and that special kind of slow-burn romance that kept me invested and constantly rooting for them. I also absolutely loved the characters. Jacks in particular is the kind of character you can never quite predict and thats exactly what made him so fascinating to me. At the same time, Evangeline grows so much throughout the story and you can really feel and experience everything alongside her.

Evangeline's story is captivating and soooo good. Desperate to get her first true love back, she makes a deal with a fate: The prince of hearts. Something that should never be done, because fates always want something bad in return. But time reveals the fate needs Evangeline as much as she need(s)ed him. I loved this so much. I had to immediately start the second book and lets just say: it gets even better!

This book is undeniably a masterpiece. Kind of want to ditch the real world and live in the Magnificient North as well. I love Evangeline and I too would make a deal with a fate if he was Jacks, can´t blame her. This was my first fantasy read ever and definitely not my last from Stephanie Garber.

Evangeline is desperate: The love of her life is about to marry her step-sister. Her only option: Making a deal with the cursed Prince of Hearts. But what was meant to be a desperate act of true love unleashed Murphey's law at it's finest: Everything that can go wrong will go wrong. Now bound with a deal to Jacks, the Prince of Hearts, Evangeline stumbles from one disaster to the next while still trying to find love. This book is SO addictive. Couldn't put it down. Huge thanks to my bestfriend who forced me to read this book.

Fairytale meets a story full of twists, a blurred line between ally and foe and the question; is fate unavoidable or in your own hands? With a fun and engaging roster of characters reverses Garber traditional fairytale storytelling and adds an edge to it!
