After waiting almost two years for more, getting to return to this world felt so incredibly good. I genuinely love and hate this at the same time. I went into it knowing I was probably going to devour it, but somehow I still wasn’t prepared for how quickly I flew through it. I'm still not quite sure if I finished the book or if it finished me, but at this point I don't mind it. Experiencing Threshing Day from different perspectives is such a fun addition to the Empyrean world. It feels like getting little pieces of the world and more insight into each of the characters and their bonds with their dragons. Sadly no dragon-POV, but she did say that it wouldn't happen. "The dragons know too much" YEA OKAY REBECCA. Some stories definitely hit harder (Liam, Xaden...) than others, but overall, I enjoyed every single one. And yes, there are definitely moments that made me stop and stare at the page for a second (Liam!!!) Rebecca knows exactly how to give us just enough to make us desperately want more, but we already knew that, too. Some of these lines are stuck in my head and I cannot for the life of me stop thinking about them. And now I am left with the very predictable problem of wanting more. Again. Also, the dragons are so funny. I absolutely love their attitude and how they reveal major facts so nonchalantly. This being said, I will go touch some grass, hug a tree and then continue to cry my eyes out, because "It's our sacred duty. An honor, really."
